I do love a good "best of" tool site and yours is a very nice page to start looking for that "perfect" cordless drill. As to saws - I think that if you use 'em, then you will find that the Bosch GST135BCE jigsaw is TOP of the line.... hands down the best. I know there are the millionaire woodworkers (not carpenters working on a house) that like Festools - but about 99.999999999% of us can't even think about owning something that is about as expensive as the car we drive. So that only leaves Bosch as the Top choice.
Way too many mitre-saws and circle-saws that I have NOT used to bring any favorite into this topic....
but I have used quite a few jigsaws... a lot being real garbage. The Bosch is going to change your mind about jigsaws.

Great review, goes into very important knowledge about the number and size of screws and lags that it could handle. Gives you an idea about what to expect if you buy one.

It's hardly worth buying a replacement battery when a new drill is not much more expensive.

Thanks for an excellent review. The video was icing on the cake. I agree with you about the chuck problem. Most people who have problems with the chuck loosening on its own, get in a hurry and fail to correctly tighten the chuck.

I've never tried one of those. Always had a gas-powered auger nearby. That looks pretty handy though. Guess you might need to bring along a couple of extra batteries.

I just bought a cordless drill with a lithium ion battery, and was not aware of things that can damage the drill or battery. Very informative article.
