The winner of the 36v category is . . . no one.That's right we don't have a recommendation in the 36 volt category. It's not because there aren't any 36v cordless drills that could get the nod. There are. But we don't feel there are any 36v drills that beat out our best 24 volt drill recommendations. If you are looking for a heavy duty drill, then you should go with our 24 volt heavy duty choice.
If you're looking for power and durability you should go with the all-around 24 volt drill. The drill that we would recommend in the 36 volt category does have a little more runtime than our 24 volt recommendation (which is actually a 28 volt drill). But since the 24v cordless drill runs so long anyway and comes with two batteries, what's the point of having a little more runtime? I mean, if you were heading off into the woods to do some construction and you couldn't charge and you needed 4 more hours of runtime to complete the job, you'd get the 36v drill. But since we don't think that's a likely scenario we'll just point you to the 24 volt page. We feel it's a better fit for this category. The all-around pick is more powerful and durable. The heavy duty pick is more heavy duty.
